Herdling is an absolutely lovely indie game that I only got into recently and it's available for Game Pass so get ready to herd and let's play.

Herdling has you play as Via who discovers a troubled animal chum in her city then seeks out and rescues a couple more. These chums are known as Calicorns and they are adorable! Upon exiting the city, you go on an adventure through nature while discovering more Calicorns along the way as you add them to your herd. The basic gameplay has you chase your furry chums as they'll move away from you. This is actually handled very well and watching the gorgeous animals move ahead as you run around can be quite a relaxing experience. ☺️ v1d30chumz xzyewyzteyzc
Herdling gameplay video →With that being said, there is some challenge incorporated into Herdling because your herd can get hurt which I found out by accident early on as one got snagged on some rubble then started bleeding. That made me feel absolutely terrible and, honestly, I still feel bad about it! The good news is that when you reach camp, you can clean up your chums, feed them, play with them, and pet them and doing so will make them much happier and all better so tend to them as much as you can; please, for me? Anyway, you'll also have to look out for predators and there is some stealth gameplay injected in these moments. Throw in some light practical puzzle-solving where your herd can help you push objects and give you a boost and you're left with some well-rounded gameplay, especially if you try not to let anyone get hurt ever again! 😥
Herdling is a short and beautiful game that establishes its immersive game world with detailed yet artistically cohesive environments where distant scenery really shines and acts as a constant driving force for you to reach your mountaintop destination. On top of this, the audio is pitch-perfect with gentle melodies that complement the gameplay beautifully. There are some nifty extra gameplay mechanics, too, where you can command your herd to stampede ahead and even unlock some bits of story that flesh out the world in a gentle and unspoken way. 📖
