Video Game Prom 2026 will return to Tokyo on September 16, bringing indie game demos, live music, food, drinks, and a prom-style party to TGS week. The fifth annual gathering will take place at Robin Club in Omotesando from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Tickets are available now for 4,500 Yen on the event page.
This year’s event is titled VGP5: Digital Velvetillion and is organized by Tokyo gaming community GAMELAND, with GameMaker, KOCCA, GamerSky, and IGN Japan presenting the event.
Attendees will be able to play indie games from developers in South Korea and China while meeting developers, creators, players, and other members of the games industry. Live music will run throughout the evening alongside the returning VGP Crowning.
The night will also include light food, snacks, all-you-can-drink beverages, and a photo booth. Guests are encouraged to lean into the prom theme, with suits, dresses, cosplay, tuxedos, velvet, sequins, and other party attire all welcome.
Video Game Prom is now in its fifth year and has become one of GAMELAND’s recurring community gatherings in Tokyo, offering an after-hours meetup for people attending or working around Tokyo Game Show week.
Video Game Prom 2026: VGP5 Digital Velvetillion will be held at Robin Club in Omotesando on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
